If you’re anything like me, you’re sick and tired of all of the same old dating sites online that don’t promote love and romance at all. These dating sites are a dime a dozen, and they seem more interested in making a quick buck and promoting random hookups than actually encouraging real old-fashioned romance in the world. But if you’re an old-fashioned romantic, don’t despair; there are some websites out there that are dedicated to actual romance, rather than the impersonal loveless relationships that the other places promote.

Unfortunately, the Internet isn’t really the best place for old-fashioned romantics. Although the web may help in meeting someone who has something in common with you, you still can’t beat the benefits that come from a face-to-face personal relationship. While some people may claim to fall in love with a person the only know online, you can never really be sure about someone until you’ve actually spent physical time with them. Simply typing to someone on the Internet isn’t what old-fashioned romance is about at all.

Old-fashioned romance is all about patience, understanding and selflessness, and those three qualities aren’t very common on the Internet. Rather than using online dating sites to find the perfect person for you, it might be a better idea to worry about doing what you love in your own life, and romance will probably come without you even looking for it. Spend your time pursuing the things that you enjoy doing, and you’ll be much more likely to find someone who has something in common with you. This will make for a more durable romantic relationship, and make your love more likely to last.

But that doesn’t mean that you can’t use the Internet to help your love develop once you’ve actually found that special romantic person. There are plenty of resources online that can help you make your relationship more romantic, from a romantic love quiz to real tips from experts. The trick is to make sure that the advice you’re getting is from someone who knows what they’re really talking about. It’s easy to write about being romantic, but actually translating those words into effective romantic acts is another thing entirely.

So by all means, use the Internet to search for great new ideas to keep romance alive in your relationship. Introducing new things into your love life will keep your romance fresh and exciting, and your partner will thank you for it. But above all else, don’t forget that the true romantic doesn’t really need inspiration from other sources to add love to a relationship. Look for inspiration in everything around you, and make sure that you go out of your way to appreciate every day you have with that special someone.
